ER Update

Well, there is good news and not so good news. The good news is that William has not had a fever in over 24 hours. He feels great and there are no other signs of illness. The physicians did say that the blood cultures they have drawn are positive for a certain bacteria found on the skin. The theory is that this bacteria is growing in William's central line and needs to be knocked out via IV meds. At this point, the IV therapy seems to be working wonderfully. The not so good news is this ... William will not be discharged until he has been infection free for 10 days. In other words, if William is infection free today then we will be discharged in 9 days. Pray that the blood cultures that were taken today come back without any signs of infection. We will not know until late tonight.
