Surgery on William's toe
Last Friday Will went to Texas Childrens for a routine clinic visit. He has had an ingrown toenail that we had been soaking all week and on an extra antibiotic to try to remedy his toe. As soon as the doctors saw it Friday they knew they had to remove part of his toenail down to the root. So Will was an "add-on" to the days surgery schedule. It was about 8:30 am that he was cut off all food and water until after surgery, which could be at anytime. Friday was a very L O N G day. He did not get into surgery until 6:30 that night at which time we didn't even have a hospital room. We knew it was a possibility that we might have to sleep in the recovery room until a hospital bed became available. Yea! By 8:30 pm on Friday Will had a room and we were moving in. Surgery went great and they are keeping him at the hospital to give him IV antibiotics to prevent infection from the surgery. We were set for a Monday discharge until today. Will's blood pressure has been running high. His kidneys are under a lot of strain. The doctors want an ultrasound of Will's kidneys and to monitor him overnight. Thank you for checking in on Will and continuing to pray for his health (and our strength). :)
