Thursday, Day +8

William has been not felt so good in the past 12 hours. He has had several episodes of vomiting. Yesterday he received a platelet transfusion and today he is getting a blood transfusion. His blood counts (lab work) have been so low that he is very pale and a little "chubby" from all the extra fluid intake. (low is what the doctors want, so that is not a bad thing). Overall, he is tolerating very well what his body is undergoing. He will be needing platelet transfusions every 4 days or so now. We are well covered on that end of things. (thank you!) I just wanted to give you a quick update... he is outside the room playing in the playroom right now.
Mouthcare is a big deal here. Because the chemo kills all (even the good) bacteria the mouth is very vulnerable to develop soars. Actually it is common to develop them down your entire digestive tract. To help with this he has to swish nasty solutions all through out the day. He isn't fond of these and it is a battle most of the time. So, if you think about it, please pray that the Lord would comfort him when he needs to do things that cause him discomfort (and loving patience for us when dealing with him). :) Love and hugs to all yall.
